Beginners/Novice Classes

If you are new to fencing, have only limited experience, or returning after a long absence, then starting with one of our Beginner groups is the best place to start.

Aimed at teens and adults, these are open to ages 12+. Younger beginners should start in their age-group class.

Beginner classes run for 6 weeks. Each session runs for 90 minutes. Equipment is provided and cleaned after each session.

Once you feel ready, you are welcome to also join the senior fencers for extra training. Club members are welcome to join the beginners group at any time if they want to practice and improve basic skills.

For your class, you need to dress ready for sport. Track-pants, t-shirt and sneakers are fine. No shorts though, your legs need to be covered once the swords come out.
