New time for our Tuesday swordplay class, 5pm-6pm, in the room at the top of the stairs (above our usual spot in Durkin Hall).
Games based learning for young fencers, the focus is on fun and basic skill development.
For sufficiently mature participants, there are two U9 competitions later in the year that they can aim for.

It’s time to start fencing again, here is what you have to look forward to in Term 1. Make sure you affiliate with Fencing Victoria before your first fencing session: FV Registration Form
Mitcham training resumes at 7pm on Tuesday January 21st. We’re on school holiday timetable for the January sessions, which means we make it up as we go along.
Normal classes resume from February 4th.
5pm – U9 Swordplay. New, earlier timeslot!
7pm – U13 Sabre Squad, and Senior Sabre Squad Training starts.
Nunawading training resumes on February 2nd. The first session back will include some goal-setting activities for the year ahead.

Olinda training resumes on Thursday February 6th.

The Ultimate Fencing Camp is run by CrossXSwords, and is the place to go for some serious pre-season training.

Finish the fencing year with some piste bouting and practice your refereeing under the guidance of qualified ref Tim Davis.
Epee and Junior Sabre training will run as normal, but everyone is welcome to join the referee training from 10:30.
Our annual Presentation BBQ, where we enjoy food together, hand out medals and awards, and generally have a bit of fun.
Speaking of awards, nominations are now open! Nominate people for serious awards like Most Improved, Fun awards like “Most Spectacular Equipment Failure”, or make up your own award just because they deserve it. Send nominations to any committee member.
This year you are also invited to bring any new or used fencing-related items you wish to sell at our Fencing Xmas Market. Naturally you should also bring some cash for those last minute gifts and impulse purchases!
