Membership

Club membership provides you with access to club training, events and communications.  We are a not-for-profit organisation run by volunteers – your membership fees pay for venues, coaches and shared equipment, and the costs of meeting our legal and affiliation obligations.

All club members must be registered with Fencing Victoria.

Club membership fees can be paid by monthly direct debit, or with a single annual payment made before January 31st.

You can change your membership category at any time by contacting the club treasurer: treasurer@whitehorsechevaliers.org.au.

New Members – Paying Your Membership

This is a 2-stage process.

First you need to fill out your information online and pay $32 to Fencing Victoria for your affiliation:

The link to register is here:  Fencing Victoria Club Portal
We have instructions here:  Registration Guide

Second, you need to pay for club membership and send an e-mail to the club treasurer to confirm.
The club Treasurer’s e-mail is: treasurer@whitehorsechevaliers.org.au

To set up a direct debit, use this link: Integrapay Online Form

If you prefer not to use direct debit, please discuss other payment options with the Treasurer.
Membership categories and costs are below.

There is also a set-up fee of $90 which covers overhead costs.  This can be paid direct to the club account, or the treasurer can modify your first direct debit payment to include it.

Members – Renewing Your Membership

Membership needs to be renewed in January each year.

Watch your e-mail in Dec/Jan for a notice that will give you full instructions (the process sometimes changes).  You will need to affiliate with Fencing Victoria for the new year.

If you pay by direct debit, your payments will continue automatically unless you contact us to cancel them.  Please remember to give the treasurer 14 days notice.

Membership must be renewed by the cut-off date, otherwise you will be processed as a new member and need to pay the set-up fee again.
As a rule of thumb, your January membership payment covers the overhead costs, while Feb-Dec covers the running costs.  If you don’t pay for January, we have to recover the cost.

Visitors
Visitors are welcome at all club sessions, however fencers must be affiliated with their state or national fencing association.  There is a visitor fee of $20 per session, which includes participation in any suitable group classes.

Visitor fees can be paid by direct debit or direct deposit for frequent visitors.

Prospective Members
As fencing is a sport most people have limited knowledge of, prospective members are welcome to have a go to see if the sport is right for them before signing up.  They can participate in a free trial session at the start of each term, or attend one of our school holiday activities.
